Our Company
Expressions of Dance opened its doors July 2006 at Hayes Taylor YMCA. It is a dance company that believes
strongly in the importance of its staff having a background in dance education. All the instructors love children and love
to teach. All of the instructors have not only dance performance experience but are majoring in dance in college, or have
a teaching background.
Expressions of Dance curriculum is designed to equip dancers to be well rounded and fluent
in most dance types. Expressions of Dance welcomes students of all dance abilities and levels. Expressions of Dance desires
to help them to become the best person and dancer they can be.

Our Philosophy
Expressions of Dance's mission is to create a fun environment that empowers its students to learn how to skillfully, expressively
perform and create choreography with a purpose to please God.
Expressions of Dance strives to provide its students with a solid foundation of dance technical knowledge. Expressions
of Dance accomplishes this goal by using the proper dance terminology of several dance disciplines. Our goal is for our students
to learn the dance terminology of several dance types in order to instill in them a lengthy dance movement vocabulary. Our
students will then have the opportunity to use that dance vocabulary to help create unique dance pieces with the guidance
of their instructor.
Expressions of Dance seeks to nurture its emerging choreographers by teaching them how to create and analyze dances. Expressions
of Dance appreciates every dance skill level as a unique form of artistic expression.
