Tanae Rascoe is the wife of Brian Rascoe, and they have two beautiful daughters Brianna and Trinity. She is the daughter
of Robert and Ophelia Jones. She is a trained dancer with over 20 years of performing experience. She started her dance training
at Salimah Dance Company of Greensboro, NC. She has continued her dance training at UNC-Greensboro graduating with a Bachelors
of Science degree in Dance Education, cum laude with honors. She is a licensed dance educator who teaches full time dance
at Eastern Alamance High School.
She has been hired to choreograph works for weddings and for other special events. She has ministered in dance
at Strieby United Church of Christ, Mt Zion Baptist Church, New Millennium Christian Center, and Bethany Church.
On February 24 and 25, 2006 she performed in Talani Torres MFA thesis concert in the UNCG Dance Theatre, and will perform
April 13 and 14, 2007 in Lacy James MFA thesis concert also held in the UNCG Dance Theatre. She is also a former NC A&T
State University Cheerleader.
As a teacher she has been teaching students for a decade. She formerly taught dance
at Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Greensboro,Inc. She has worked with the youth at New Millennium Christian Center in Drama and
the Arts. She oversees and choreographs for the Adult Dance Ministry at New Millennium Christian Center. She has taught music
and dance at the African-American Cultural Arts Summer Program in Greensboro. She has also volunteered teaching Creative Movement
consistently every Wednesday for 10 months at the Kiddie College preschool program at Hayes Taylor YMCA.
She is also a licensed minister who is called to use the arts as a means to evangelize and minister to the world. Her
desire is to see the arts being used for its intended purpose: to praise and worship God. She also teaches workshops about
the significance to the church. She feels that liturgical dancing should ultimately focus on ministering to the dancers itself
and their audience, and not on its entertainment value.
Currently, she is the Artistic Director of Expressions
of Dance, a liturgical dance company thats purpose is to teach its students how to dance expressively, and skillfully with
a purpose to please God. She feels its important to help increase the students self esteem by celebrating and embracing everyone's
body type, while still promoting a positive and healthy body image. In the classes ,as a teacher, she creates an atmosphere
conductive for learning. In this atmosphere she can cultivate the choreographer that is in all dancers. She cares about the
entire dancers well being: spiritually, emotionally and physically.
